October 16-22, 2011
As the school year begins plans are in the works for an outstanding "Safe Schools Week" again this year...2011.  Mark your school calendars and plan to share this week with students and teachers across the state making our schools safer, healthier places to learn and work.

Safe Schools Week

Kentucky Center for School Safety wants to step up to the challenge and encourage every school across Kentucky to participate in Kentucky Safe Schools Week, October 17-23, 2010.  This year’s theme is R-E-S-P-E-C-T and will span topics from bullying, cyber bullying, sexting, to suicide.  A reproducible promotional  flyer is attached. KCSS

provides vital resources for teachers, administrators and students.

 

Interactive online pledges are available on Bullying, Cyber bullying and a new pledge will be launched this year entitled “R-E-S-P-E-C-T”. This pledge encompasses the idea that respect of one’s self and others will help to eliminate problems surrounding a variety of school safety issues.

  • Media Blitz- Navigate the following link to find everything your school and community needs to plan a successful Safe Schools Campaign. Join a safety committee, comprised of teachers, students, parents, and community members (a first responder would be an excellent choice) and lead the charge for Safe Schools Week.
